Themes of Irish Life are directly linked to the rural landscape of Ireland and include, Road Bowls, Horsefairs and Turf Cutting. These studies are aimed at depicting people of the landscape rather than people in landscape. The hands and faces are etched, lined, worn, wind blasted and strong. They are painted with thick paint dragged, incised, smudged and layered.
